Griddle Stitch

Hey Crocheters! ✨ It’s Nadia here, the owner and creator of New Mom Spirit!

Today, we’re learning the Griddle Stitch, a beautifully textured pattern created by alternating single crochets (UK: double crochets) and double crochets (UK: treble crochets).

This stitch gives a subtle, pebbled effect, making it perfect for cozy blankets, scarves, dishcloths, and textured garments. If you’re looking for a simple yet elegant stitch, this is the one for you!

Tips for Crocheting the Griddle Stitch

✅ Use a larger hook – This stitch can be quite dense, so a slightly larger hook will give it a softer drape.
✅ Color changes add depth – Try striping every two rows for a fun effect!
