Honeycomb Stitch

Hey Crocheters! It's Nadia here, the owner and creator of New Mom Spirit.

I've been crocheting for over two decades—since I was just seven years old! My grandmother, who taught me both knitting and crochet, made me fall in love with the craft. Now, I'm here to pass on that knowledge to you!

Today, we’re diving into a stunning textured stitch—the Honeycomb Crochet Stitch. This stitch creates a woven, honeycomb-like texture, making it perfect for cozy blankets, cushion covers, and scarves. Ready to learn? Let’s go!

Materials and Tools

For this tutorial, I used:

  • Yarn – DK or worsted weight yarn works best. Choose a solid color to emphasize the texture.

  • Hook – 4.5 mm (adjust according to your yarn).

  • Scissors

  • Darning Needle

Feel free to experiment with different yarn weights and hook sizes to achieve your desired effect.

Pattern Notes

  • The honeycomb stitch is worked over a multiple of 2 stitches + 1 extra for turning.

  • This pattern uses post stitches to create the raised honeycomb effect.
