Puff Stitch

Hey Crocheters! ✨ It’s Nadia here, the owner and creator of New Mom Spirit!

If you’ve been following along, you know by now that crochet is more than just a hobby for me—it’s a piece of my heritage, heart, and home. I’ve been crocheting for over two decades, ever since my grandmother taught me how to turn yarn into something magical.

I was told countless times that “crochet can’t be a career”, and yet here I am, proving that passion + persistence = success! And I want to help you do the same.

So today, let’s dive into a beautiful, fluffy, textured stitch—the Puff Stitch! 🧶💖

What is the Puff Stitch?

The Puff Stitch is a soft, raised stitch that adds incredible texture and warmth to any project. It’s chunkier than a Bobble Stitch and fluffier than a Popcorn Stitch, making it perfect for cozy accessories, blankets, and baby items.

It creates a 3D effect, which makes it ideal for adding dimension and depth to your crochet work.

Tips for Crocheting the Puff Stitch

✅ Loosen up! If your tension is too tight, it’ll be hard to pull through all the loops.
✅ Use a yarn that holds shape. Puff Stitches look best with yarns that give a soft, defined structure.
✅ Test different loop counts! Some crocheters like to use 4 or 5 loops instead of 3 for an even puffier effect.
