Foundation Row
Start with an even number of chains.
Row 1: (Foundation row)

Skip 1 stitch, tr/dc, ch 1, tr/dc into the next stitch (this forms the V stitch).

Row 3 & Beyond:

Ch 3.

Work a V stitch (tr/dc, ch 1, tr/dc) into the ch-1 space of the V stitch from the previous row.
