Why I Created a Craft Academy for Kids (Even When I Had Nothing to Give)

I didn’t start Little Makers Academy because I had spare time.
I didn’t start it because I had loads of money, help, or a perfect plan.
I started it because I had children with curious hands, a tiny kitchen table covered in glue and glitter, and a heart that whispered:
“They deserve more than worksheets and screens.”
And honestly?
So did I.
🧠 The Broken System Nobody Talks About
When you’re a home-ed mum, you realise fast that most of what’s out there is either:

Or just doesn’t work for your child
I wasn’t just tired of explaining why we chose Home Ed.
I was tired of having to prove it could be creative, joyful, and brilliant — even when we had less than everyone else.
So I built something that should’ve existed for us all along: A creative online space where kids could learn, explore, and make messes that meant something.
🎨 Little Makers Academy Was Born
We started with paper, paint, and recycled loo rolls.
We added scissors, printables, glitter — and a lot of “Don’t eat that!” moments.
And from all that chaos came magic.
What was once “Mummy, I’m bored” turned into:
“Can I make something else?”
“Can we do that again tomorrow?”
“Can I teach my friend this?”
