Today, we’re working on the Arrow Stitch, a striking, geometric stitch that creates a visually appealing V-shaped pattern—just like arrows! This stitch is perfect for blankets, scarves, and textured accessories.

Materials & Tools

  • Yarn – Any weight, but DK or Aran works well

  • Hook – Recommended size for your yarn (4mm or 5mm)

  • Scissors

  • Darning Needle

 


 

Abbreviations (UK Terms)

(US conversions in brackets)

  • ch – Chain

  • dc – Double Crochet (US: Single Crochet)

  • tr – Treble Crochet (US: Double Crochet)

  • st(s) – Stitch(es)

Arrow Stitch Pattern

Foundation Chain:

Chain a multiple of 4 + 1 (e.g., 25, 29, 33, etc.).

Row 1:

  1. Tr in 4th ch from hook (counts as first tr).

  2. *Skip 1 ch, dc in next.

  3. Tr in skipped stitch.*

  4. Repeat across. Turn.

Row 2:

  1. Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch).

  2. Dc in first tr, skip 1 st, tr in next, dc in skipped stitch.

  3. Repeat across. Turn.

Repeat Row 2 for the desired length.
