Foundation Chain:

Make any even-numbered chain (e.g., 20, 22, 24, etc.).

Row 1:

  1. Herringbone Treble (hbt) in 4th ch from hook (counts as first stitch).

  2. *Yarn over, insert hook into next ch, yarn over, pull through (3 loops on hook).

  3. Pull first loop directly through the second loop (like a slip stitch).

  4. Yarn over, pull through one loop.

  5. Yarn over, pull through remaining two loops.*

  6. Repeat from * to * across. Turn.

Row 2:

  1. Ch 3 (counts as first hbt).

  2. Hbt in each stitch across. Turn.

Repeat Row 2 for the desired length.

Tips for Success

✅ Keep an even tension—this stitch naturally pulls to one side, so relaxed stitches help.
✅ Try a slightly larger hook for a softer, drapey fabric.
✅ Use solid-colored yarn to highlight the woven effect.
