Foundation Chain
Start with a multiple of 6 + 2 chains.
Row 1: (Foundation row)

Skip 2 ch, work 5 tr (US: dc) into the next ch, skip 2 ch, dc (UK: sc) into the next ch.

Row 2: (Building the Shells)

Work 5 tr (US: dc) into the middle dc (UK: tr) of the previous row's shell. Skip to the next shell, dc (UK: sc) in the center stitch of the shell.
