Waffle Stitch
Share
Hey Crocheters! ✨ It’s Nadia here, the owner and creator of New Mom Spirit!
If you love thick, squishy textures, the Waffle Stitch is a perfect choice! It’s a beautifully textured stitch that looks just like a fluffy waffle—making it ideal for cozy blankets, scarves, dishcloths, and even sweaters.
Let’s get started!
What is the Waffle Stitch?
The Waffle Stitch is created using a mix of front post treble crochet (US: double crochet) and regular treble crochet (US: double crochet). This forms a deep, grid-like texture that’s both visually appealing and super warm!

Tips for Crocheting the Waffle Stitch
✅ Use a softer yarn – The raised texture makes this stitch extra cozy!
✅ Count your stitches carefully – Post stitches can shift your stitch count if you’re not careful.
